Nehal Waghela

Nehal comes from a middle class background. She completed her education in a small town in Maharashtra. She is an engineering graduate from Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
After her marriage, she settled in Bangalore. She is a loving Mother of a 10 year old.
She is a successful IT professional and has worked for various IT giants like Aruba, Brocade, Intel, Oracle and VMware.
She is a passionate Biker and rides Royal Enfield Himalayan. She is a Social Worker and contributes in various fields like Child education, Army welfare, Environmental causes and women upliftment.

She takes keen interest in various social and political issues and often makes her voice heard. She is very active in her locality, society and on social media as well.

She is a Corona Survivor and a warrior. She has associated with various NGOs to work toward providing relief to less privileged sections of society reeling under the Corona pandemic. A number of news channels and newspapers have often covered her noble work.
Achievements as Social worker

1. Corona survivor and warrior:

She is a Corona Survivor and a Warrior. Ever since the beginning of the pandemic, she has volunteered to provide food, medicine, ration and even counselling to impacted people. She has associated with various NGOs and organised ration kit distributions to different localities in Bangalore including orphanages, old age homes, migrant and stranded workers and other less privileged sections. She created the bikers team who delivered these kits to needy citizens of Bengaluru. She even organised ration kit distribution to remote tribal villages in BR Hills near Mysore. Thousands of stranded and migrants have benefited from her efforts She has been able to reach out to more than 2000 families and provide them ration in and around Bangalore with help of NGOs she is working with.

Even on personal capacity, Nehal persuaded Waghela Family to donate a brand New Ambulance to Mercy Mission NGO to help Covid victims and to transport deceased corona victims to graveyards. She donated medicines to more than 150 corona patients and 35 steamers/vaporisers to a number of needy people during the Covid Crisis. She also donated Ration kits worth 50 thousand in her personal capacity.

Nehal has been part of the team in a crucial role in organising various vaccination drives which benefited more than 3000 slum dwellers. She had also volunteered to be part of vaccination drives by BBMP in govt schools and hospitals. She is a true icon of selfless service as she helped several senior citizens to get appointments in hospitals and accompanied them when vaccinations were only available for 40+.
